Ten years after the original point-and-click adventure, Ron Gilbert and Terrible Toybox have officially announced Thimbleweed Park 2, bringing Agents Ray and Reyes back for a new mystery. Ron Gilbert, creator of The Secret of Monkey Island and legendary point-and-click developer, has officially announced Thimbleweed Park 2 on his Grumpy Gamer blog. Terrible Toybox confirmed via the game's Steam page that production has recently begun, targeting a 2028 release on PC. A New Mystery at Edmund Mansion Several members of the original development team are returning for the project. Rather than serving strictly as a direct sequel or prequel, the developers describe the game as a new story set within the same eccentric universe. The narrative reunites Agents Ray and Reyes as they investigate a newly discovered body at Edmund Mansion. Framed as a classic whodunit pastiche, the investigation places every resident of the mansion under suspicion. Return to a Classic Point-and-Click World The original 2017 Thimbleweed Park originated as a Kickstarter campaign co-created by Gilbert and Gary Winnick. It featured five playable characters, retro pixel art, and humor heavily inspired by 1990s classics alongside pop-culture homages to Twin Peaks and The X-Files. Regular updates on the development process will be shared as production progresses toward its planned 2028 launch.
