Moon Studios has delayed the full 1.0 release of No Rest for the Wicked from October 2026 to March 2027, announcing an open beta test scheduled for December. Moon Studios has announced that the full 1.0 launch of its dark action RPG No Rest for the Wicked has been pushed back from its previously scheduled October 2026 release window to March 2027 on PC and PlayStation 5. The game, which originally entered Steam Early Access in April 2024, requires additional development time for fine-tuning performance, refining core gameplay mechanics, and finalizing major content updates. Why Moon Studios Delayed Version 1.0 In an official community update and accompanying video message from CEO and Creative Director Thomas Mahler, the studio explained that internal playtesting indicated the 1.0 build is not quite ready for public release. The honest truth is that we're a small team, and we're holding our games to a standard we won't compromise on. We're close, but close isn't good enough for our full 1.0 launch. The extra time will help us improve performance, tighten the class system, and polish the whole game to the standard you all deserve. Mahler noted that after releasing earlier major updates, the team has been working aggressively to implement complete 1.0 features and systems, but prefers not to rush the final product. We'd just like to take that extra time to make sure that we land this plane safely and that we don't ship with any silly little bugs. Open Beta, Pre-Orders, and Founder Rewards Rather than going quiet leading up to March 2027, Moon Studios will conduct several playtests to gather further player feedback: Closed beta tests will take place across the autumn months. A public open beta test is scheduled for December 2026, serving as the final testing phase prior to launch. PlayStation 5 pre-orders will open in January 2027. The cutoff date to receive the PC Founder's Pack rewards has been extended to January 1, 2027. While the PC and PlayStation 5 versions are slated to arrive in March 2027, launch timelines for Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 editions remain to be determined. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBYeRF2XgpE
