Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has sold 3.5 million copies in just two weeks, already exceeding the full-year sales projection Ubisoft had set internally for the game. The remaster, developed by Vantage Studios, launched in early July and has become the first Assassin's Creed title to break 100,000 concurrent players on Steam, a milestone Ubisoft says translated into "a historical proportion of sales for the franchise on PC," led by the US and Chinese markets. CEO Yves Guillemot called the launch "an encouraging proof point" for Ubisoft's ongoing corporate restructuring — a reorganization that has also led to layoffs among the developers who worked on the game. In its latest financial report, Ubisoft posted first-quarter net bookings of €256 million, down 9% year-on-year but slightly above guidance, driven largely by the mobile idle RPG Invincible: Guarding the Globe. Notably, that figure doesn't yet include Black Flag Resynced's sales, since the game launched after the quarter closed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9EmVkQ5v54 Guillemot noted the remaster is the highest-rated Assassin's Creed release since the original Black Flag. "Two weeks in, the title has already exceeded the annual expectations we had," he said, adding that the launch "illustrates the enduring appeal of the Assassin's Creed brand" alongside the early payoff of Ubisoft's broader transformation strategy. Investors should expect the game's real financial impact to show up in next quarter's numbers.
