Use this page as a quick map of the app: discover games, build your library, create and share lists, track progress, import external libraries, and customize your account.
Search the catalog from the top bar or the Find a Game page, then open a game detail page before adding it.
Search by title across the available game sources.
Review release date, platforms, studio, cover, scores, Steam reviews, and playtime data when available.
Add a game to your library, wishlist, or favorites from the game page.
Manage your library
Your library is the central place for the games you own, play, plan to play, or already completed.
Set each game as playing, completed, backlog, on hold, dropped, or wishlist depending on your current state.
Track hours played, completion percentage, start date, finish date, and your personal rating.
Store the platform, store, Steam ownership, PlayStation Plus ownership, or Game Pass source when relevant.
Organize entries
Use your own structure on top of the catalog data so the library matches how you actually think about games.
Create and assign custom tags for genre, mood, priority, backlog groups, or any personal system.
Write private notes for impressions, strategy, reminders, or mini reviews.
Mark an entry as private to remove it from the normal library and activity surfaces. Use Hidden games and confirm your password whenever you want to view it.
Create and share game lists
Open Profile → Lists to build themed collections, revisit lists you liked, and manage private copies.
Create a list with a title, description, and private or public visibility, then add and reorder catalog games.
Convert one of your library tags into a private list without removing or changing the original tag.
Public lists appear under Community Lists in Trending, where the most liked collections are shown first.
Like a public list to save it under Profile → Lists → Liked lists; unlike it to remove it from that tab.
Copy any active public list to create an independent private list that you can rename, reorder, add to, or remove games from.
Administrators can remove unsuitable public lists. The owner receives an email with the reason and can edit the list while it awaits restoration.
Import and sync
Connect supported platform accounts from Profile settings, preview the games VGL finds, and import them without rebuilding your collection by hand.
Import or refresh a Steam library from your profile settings when your Steam ID is configured.
Connect Epic Games when available to bring your owned games into the same library.
Connect PlayStation with your PSN session, preview PS4/PS5 account games, and import selected titles. This best-effort integration may be unavailable if Sony changes its private endpoints.
Sign in with your Microsoft account, preview games from Xbox achievement history, and import them with achievement progress when available.
Sync Xbox Game Pass titles into your library when the Game Pass preference is enabled.
Wishlist, favorites, and bookmarks
Separate what you own from what you want, what you love, and what you want to revisit later.
Use the wishlist for games you want to track before you own or start them.
Mark favorite games and open the Favorites tab for a focused view.
Bookmark articles or content you want to come back to.
Statistics and activity
VGL turns your library data into a personal overview of your habits and progress.
See totals by status, top genres, platforms, time played, and average ratings.
Filter statistics by platform, year, and genre to understand a specific slice of your library.
Use the activity history to review additions and edits made to your library.
Friends and privacy
Use social features when you want to share context, while keeping sensitive entries private.
Search users, send friend requests, accept or decline requests, and manage your friends list.
Follow friend activity where available to see what people are adding or updating.
Private entries stay out of shared activity and the normal library; their dedicated view requires your account password.
