Description

Out of Body is a block-pushing puzzle game where death isn't the end of a level, it's the first step to solving it.

A hooded stranger offers you a deal: mend broken souls in exchange for helping your sick child.

Collect lives to turn into a ghost, possess skeletons, and carve yourself a path to reach the goal with your original body.

Chart your own path through 100+ handcrafted levels, some optional, some required, in a branching overworld that lets you choose your own route forward.

Every solution starts the same way: you have to die first.

Die and Possess Skeletons

Death isn't a failure state, it's a tool.

When you die, you don't lose the puzzle, you gain a new piece: your own corpse becomes possessable, alongside every skeleton already scattered through the level.

As a skeleton, step into fire to ignite yourself or rain to douse the flames, turning your bones into a switch. Leave the corpse behind as a ghost, and its weight alone can hold down buttons you need pressed.

Chaining possessions in the right order and leaving their remains in the right spot is where the real puzzle-solving happens.

Smart Ways to Die

Don’t waste a life to turn into a ghost, death can also be free!

Get creative and use the environment instead: freeze yourself solid, get crushed by a boulder, burn to a crisp, drown, fall into a bottomless pit, or blow yourself up and go out with a bang.

Every death opens a new possibility, and figuring out which one solves the puzzle is half the fun.

Possess all the dead things!

It's not just skeletons.

Possess a burning skeleton to torch what's in your path, a mimic disguised as a pushable crate, a snake whose body stretches across multiple tiles, a bird that glides over obstacles but too nimble to push crates, or a dead tree whose roots can shift entire islands.

Each dead thing moves and interacts with the world differently, so every level is a puzzle of how to use their unique capabilities.
